My journey in healthcare began as a registered nurse for 15 years before moving into clinical research. During this time, I was curious about alternative therapies and so trained in reflexology, Indian head massage and Reiki. I am a licensed acupuncturist after completing my training at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine. I practise an integrated style of acupuncture encompassing Five Element and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

I have benefited from acupuncture for many years and have used Chinese Medicine in conjunction with western medicine treatments not only to treat illness, but to maintain wellbeing.

Why Choose Acupuncture?

Our lifestyle, diet, environment and emotions affect our health and manifest in physical conditions. Acupuncture works with the body to naturally treat many conditions and complaints and has been practised for more than 3000 years having been discovered to relieve symptoms of illness by treating the root cause.

Where there is no movement there is pain
Where there is movement there is no pain
(Traditional Chinese saying)

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Elements are holistic approaches which balance and regulate the body’s vital energy (qi) through the meridians – channels within the body where the qi flows – and organs.

The Five Elements are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water – we all resonate with one of these, each with its own quality of qi. When our qi is weakened or there is an excess, alterations impact our physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing – treating the Element is a powerful way to remedy the body and maintain equilibrium.

Your Treatment

Acupuncture treats you as a whole and requires a detailed understanding to tailor approaches and treatment. Your first appointment will last for 90 minutes, during this time I will establish a detailed history of your medical history, diet, sleep, lifestyle, emotional and mental wellbeing. I will also take your pulses and look at your tongue.

Subsequent treatments will last for 60 minutes. Diagnostic screening will be ongoing as treatment progresses.

I will insert very fine, single use sterilised needles into meridians to unblock channels and invigorate the flow of energy around the body – this will enable the body to heal.

In conjunction with acupuncture, I offer the following treatments:

Moxibustion is the burning of mugwart leaves (moxa) on or near your body’s meridians and acupuncture points to enhance the flow and strength of qi (energy). This treatment eliminates pathogens such as those that cause the common cold and is also used to help turn breech babies.

Glass cups are placed directly onto the skin to encourage a healthier blood flow, release fascia, reduce muscle tension and eliminate pathogens that are trapped in the body.

After applying an oil, a smooth-edged tool is used to scrape the skin to improve blood flow, reduce inflammation, release fascia and decrease muscle tension.

The ancient practice of this massage balances the flow of qi and encourages the body’s natural self-healing.

Is a technique where a gentle electrical current is applied between acupuncture needles to enhance the effects of traditional acupuncture. The mild stimulation can help improve circulation, relax muscles, and is often used to support pain relief, nerve conditions, and musculoskeletal problems.

Involves stimulating specific points on the ear that correspond to different organs and systems of the body. It can help support relaxation, reduce stress and anxiety, manage pain, and promote overall balance and wellbeing.

Small seeds or beads placed on specific points of the ear to gently stimulate acupuncture points between treatments. They can help support relaxation, reduce stress, manage cravings or pain, and encourage the body’s natural healing response.

Uses calibrated sound frequencies applied to specific points on the body to help relax the nervous system and restore balance. The gentle vibrations can support deep relaxation, reduce stress, and encourage the body’s natural healing processes.

A natural treatment that uses fine acupuncture needles placed in specific points on the face and body to support skin health and overall wellbeing. It helps improve circulation, support collagen production, reduce tension in facial muscles, and promote a brighter, more rejuvenated appearance.

Alongside acupuncture, I offer a small number of complementary therapies that can be booked as standalone treatments or used to support your overall wellbeing. These gentle therapies focus on relaxation, restoring balance, and supporting the body’s natural healing process.

Is a therapeutic treatment that works on specific points of the feet that correspond to different organs and systems of the body, helping to promote relaxation, improve circulation, reduce stress, improve sleep and support overall physical and emotional wellbeing.

A calming energy-based therapy where the practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the body to encourage deep relaxation and support the body’s natural ability to restore balance.
